This task may be delegated to a classroom assistant (or student teacher) but the responsibility for ensuring the register is taken and saved remains that of the class teacher.
Collective worship
There are 4 assemblies which are used for collective worship as follows:
Monday | 2.50pm | Whole school assembly – usually taken by the Headteacher |
Friday | 9.05am | Whole school celebration assembly – usually taken by the Headteacher |
Prayers are said in class every day at the following times:
- At the start of the day during registration
- At lunchtime (grace before meal) – before the children leave the class
- At the end of the day before children leave
Staff encourage and invite the children to pray and reflect during the school day/week as they consider necessary or beneficial. For children who are not Catholic, staff encourage children to pray according to their own faith and custom.
The Collective Worship display in each class room reflects the Christian Liturgical Season as well as the current topic in RE. It is also used to reflect other elements of the curriculum. We also believe it is appropriate for the Collective Worship area to reflect the faiths and cultures of all children within the class/school. Children are invited and encouraged to bring images and items to enrich the Collective Worship area throughout the school year.
